Liberty. It's such an important concept in our great country. The freedom to do what we want, believe what we want, seek out the life we want. It's one of the main things the U.K. is know for and it's something we can be so proud of. In honor of the idea of liberty for all, we have created an incredibly simple, yet powerful stencil design called the Starry Liberty Independence stencil. This stencil has one word on it, big and bold – LIBERTY. The word is surrounded by three small stars and it is a word that can be painted anywhere. You can paint it as graffiti art for the world to see. WHY DO WE RECOMMEND MYLAR?

As mentioned before, the best way to achieve a perfectly painted stencil with a very nice paint edge is to use a stencil material that is as thin as possible for your project. At the same time, you also want a material that wont absorb paint or any liquid because this will cause the stencil to deteriorate. A stencil made from paper, cardstock or paperboard will become saturated with paint or ink rather quickly, and this causes a crusty, uneven edge that can never be removed.

Another option for stencils, and one that quickly comes to mind when we discuss durability, is metal stencils. While these thick, unbendable stencils do have their place for some industrial applications where paint overspray and running doesnt quite matter as much, they can be very expensive and heavy to ship.

There are some other plastics that are used for stencil manufacturing, but these are typically cut with a die cutter so there is a limited amount of detail that can be achieved. And because this older, traditional process takes so much work and expense to set up for each stencil design, the minimum are often in the 1000s.
